COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS

      The Badger City Council met in Special Session on March 24, 2008 at the Badger City Clerks Office.  Mayor Conkling called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. with council members Chris Wendell, Jim Tjaden, Linda Rodenberg, Teresa Larson and Janelle Wagner present.

      Motion by Wagner second by Larson to approve the agenda.  All ayes.  Motion carried.

      The purchasing of a portion of right-of-way along P-59 was discussed.  This strip of land is approximately 73 feet wide, one half mile in length and covers 3.76 acres.  The City would enhance the area making it into a walking path with trees and flowers.  Discussion showed the pros and cons of purchasing this land and the expense to keep the path maintained.  Would the cost out weigh the benefits?

       Motion by Tjaden to place a bid, at the Board of Supervisors meeting, on the property right-of-way south on P-59 that covers approximately 3.76 acres to be used as a walking path.  The motion died with the lack of a second.

       Motion by Rodenberg second by Larson to approve the building permit for a new home at 113 6th Street S.E. for Barbara Campbell in Hovey 3rd Addition and described as lot 11.  All ayes.  Motion carried.

       Motion by Wagner second by Rodenberg to purchase a new vacuum cleaner for the City Clerk's Office and spend up to $300.  all ayes.  Motion carried.

        ABC Lawn Care contract was discussed and tabled until the April 14th meeting.

        Motion by Tjaden second by Wendell to adjourn.  All ayes.  Motion carried.  7:15 p.m.
