City Wide Garage Sale and Clean-up Day is Saturday May 3, 2008.  Anyone wishing to have their garage sale address listed on the city map needs to stop at the City Clerk’s Office and sign up.   A $3.00 registration fee covers the cost of advertisement.  Lots of people attend these garage sales, so make plans now to clean out your closets, attics and garages.  Your trash is someone’s treasure. Sign up deadline is April 28th.  Clean-up Day is also May 3rd.    A dumpster will be located by the recycling area from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.  Some restrictions apply.  No tires, batteries, haz-materials, paint, oil, appliances, yard waste or computers will be taken.  Items will be checked and no items larger than what one person can lift will be accepted.

Spring is here.  Now is the time to clean up the yard and get rid of the junk vehicles and other nuisances. They need to go before a formal letter is sent.  Badger is a great town to live in and we should all be proud to call it home.

Veterans Memorial.  Bricks can be purchased by contacting Roger or Janelle Wagner.  Donations are also needed for lighting, landscaping, fence, flags and poles.

Do you know your address?  Please display your house and building numbers!  They are very important tools for emergency vehicles to locate you.  It may even save your life.  State and City code requires numbering of all buildings in a conspicuous place to the street in figures not less than two and one-half inches (2½) in height and of a contrasting color with their background.  Failure to comply within thirty (30) days, the city may proceed to place the assigned number on the principal building and assess the costs to you or the property owner for collection in the same manner as a property tax.  This is your written notice to place or cause to be installed your house address numbers.

Fireman’s Annual Breakfast.  Plan to attend the omelet breakfast on Sunday, April 13, at the Fire Station.  They will be serving from 8:00 am. until 1:00 p.m.  Your support will help pay for new equipment.

Lion’s Pancake Breakfast.  On May 4, all you can eat pancakes plus sausage, eggs, orange juice, milk and coffee.  8:30 – 12:30 at the Fire Station.

Just a Reminder.  The recycling bin costs you money and we want to make full use of it.  It is hauled away and dumped twice a week, Monday and Thursday.  Let’s make our dollars work and recycle daily.

MidAmerican &Trees Please Grant.  The City has been awarded a grant and offering citizens trees at half price.  Trees help beautify, improves air quality and protect and nourish the soil.  Please contact the City Clerks Office for more details and what trees are available.

Storm sewers and Sanitary sewers.  An annual maintenance agreement with Midwest Waterblasting and Vac. will be cleaning the storm sewers beginning in May.  The City also has a proposal for Jet/Vac cleaning and televising a sanitary sewer line south of town.  This will be done in the fall after the crops are out.

Community Center Policy.  Effective May 1, anyone renting the Community Center will be required to fill out a form and pay a $5.00 key deposit.
