CITY OF BADGER
COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS

The Badger City Council met in regular session April 8, 2013 at the City Clerk’s Office. Mayor Chris Wendell called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. with council members Teresa Larson-White, Jim Chaney, Melissa Johnson and Tammy Jones. Absent Scott Bair.
Motion by Jones second by Johnson to approve the agenda, clerk’s report, minutes as presented and pay all bills as funds become available. Roll call. All ayes. Motion carried.
Motion by Johnson second by Larson-White to contract with ABC Lawn Care as our service provider for $2,506.01. Roll call. All ayes. Motion carried.
The “Unsafe” house was discussed. Mayor Wendell and Chaney went through the house to see what improvements have been made. The outside of the property shows some improvements with several new windows but the foundation still has issues. The basement wall is not fixed, has a new furnace with some new wiring and plumbing. Mayor Wendell will let the owner know that the work needs to progress.
Discussion showed the Crown Victoria police car will be advertised again.
Wetzel gave a written report stating all tests are good and plant operations are working well. The DNR annual inspection was done and a new motor is needed for the aerator at the water plant.
London gave a written report stating he is doing routine daily checks on streets, parks and city buildings. Replaced the generator batteries at the water plant, replaced a water meter, located lot pins and locating and recording curb stops. Worked on tool inventory and measured windows at the Community Center. The pickup blade was removed and serviced for storage.
Clerk Odor stated she would be in Des Moines at the IMFOA Spring Meeting April 17-19th. Discussion on placing object on city parking was discussed and only allowed if an application for a permit is obtained and approved by the city council and file with the city a certificate of insurance indicting they are carrying public liability insurance. Clark Bradford will be here on cleanup day to take metal and batteries. He will take appliances for $10.00 each. No fee or maps will be done for May 18th garage sales but the City will still advertise. The security camera computer will be moved to the City Clerk’s Office soon. Estimates for carpet, conference table and chairs will be presented at the May meeting.
Larson-White attended another Emergency Management meetings stated no Federal money is available. The cities will be assessed per capita.
Mayor Wendell stated snow removal was a learning experience for London he has done a good job. He also thanked everyone who came or donated to the Fire Department’s Omelet Breakfast.
